To clean a wood cutting board, hand wash it immediately after use with hot water and dish soap.
Pat the board dry with a paper towel or a clean dishtowel immediately after cleaning.
Alternatively, you can use white vinegar as a disinfectant following each use. Simply pour the vinegar all over the surface of your board, then wipe it down with a clean, wet cloth.
While the acid in vinegar acts as a natural disinfectant, this method is not recommended for cutting boards used with raw meat, fish, or poultry.
